Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I register?

Email us from the Contact Us page and we will email an enrollment form. Send completed form by snail mail, to address listed on form, with either a $75 deposit or payment in full. We are accepting checks only at this time. Payment in full must be received 2 weeks prior to the enrolled session start date.

Can I register by the week or day?

Camps are weekly morning (9am-12pm) or afternoon (2pm-5pm) June 7th to Aug. 20th. No camp week of July 5th.

How can I reserve a place for my child? (Please note change in Deposit Policy)

A $75 NON REFUNDABLE deposit will guarantee your child a spot.

When is the latest I can register?

The earlier the better, class sizes are limited.

Late Payments

Due to small classes we cannot hold a spot for a child who is not paid in full two weeks prior to their enrolled session.

Discounts

Extended Session: One time $25 discount if you sign up for 4 or more weeks at once.
Early Bird: $5 a week discount for any classes registered and paid for by May 1st.
Sibling: $10 a week discount off the sibling's enrollment providing that sibling is attending the same sessions.

Are camp fees refundable if I have to cancel my enrollment?

Camp fees are non refundable. With 10 business days notice a credit will be issued for use this summer or the summer of 2011. There will be no refunds or credits with less than 10 business days notice.

What if a Camp Session has to be cancelled?

If it is not convenient for you to move your child to a different session, you will receive a full refund. If you need your child in class during the time period you originally enrolled for, we are offering the option of private or semi private lessons with either Gerry or Greta for a small additional fee. This would ensure your child's camp plans would not have to change at the last minute and we will ensure they still have a wonderful time!

What if my Kindergartener or 6th grader want to attend the camp?

We have chosen 1st - 5th based on the social needs and skill development of those ages. We do, however, realize some Kindergarteners have highly developed fine motor skills and some older children enjoy being the "big kid in class". If you would like to discuss this on an individual case basis, contact us.

Is there a snack time?

Yes, please send a small snack and a drink in a paper sack each day.

Is the curriculum the same in the morning and afternoon sessions?

Yes, we repeat the mornings activities in the afternoon session.

Where do I drop off and pick up my child?

During both drop off and pick up you will need to bring / get your child to/from inside the camp room that is adjacent to the toy store. There is plenty of parking. We will not release your child to any unauthorized person not listed on your application. Send a note authorizing someone else to pick them up, if needed.

How should my child dress for camp?

In comfortable clothes that may get messy. While we provide art smocks, paint and glues have been known to find their way onto campers clothes.

Medications

We are not responsible for administering medication to children. Consult a pediatrician about altering the child's dosage so that medication can be administered outside of camp hours. If your child has a severe food allergy, please be advised we cannot control or monitor what snacks other children might bring to camp.

Valuables

Handheld games, iPods and electronic devices may not be used during the camp day except during our short snack break. These devices are the sole responsibility of the camper and Art Camp Adventures will not be held responsible if they are lost or stolen. Please do not send money with your child, they should bring their snack from home.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather we will make every effort to contact you about camp closure as quickly as possible. If camp is closed due to inclement weather there will be no refunds or exchanges.

When is the best time to call Gerry or Greta with questions?

Gerry and Greta will return calls once the camp day is over and answer emails in the evening.

Who can I contact during the day if I need to leave an emergency message concerning my child?

If Gerry (713-817-0177) or Greta (713-252-5338) cannot be reached during the camp day (since they are teaching the camp and might have hands full of glue or paint), you can call the Toy Store's main number (713-726-9616) if it is AFTER 10AM.
